Cloudy Water and Air Bubbles

Our office is aware of the air bubbles and cloudy water issue...

We have field staff flushing water lines and investigating the source of the unpleasant appearance in your drinking water.  We expect to have this issue resolved by this evening.  If you have any concerns or further questions, please email danavfcwd@gmail.com or call or text 760-881-9843.

Is my Water Safe to Drink?

Yes, the water provided by Apple Valley Foothill CWD is safe to drink.  Water samples are taken monthly from various locations throughout the water system and the water wells.  We have a certified field operator and state-recognized laboratory personnel who sample and test the water to ensure it is safe for all uses. There are over 8 monitoring locations throughout the district. The May 2025 test results have shown that our water meets or exceeds all State and Federal drinking water standards. If you would like to see the most recent analyses of our water, go to the Drinking Water Quality Report.

However, old plumbing or improperly maintained water treatment devices may adversely affect the quality of the water coming from the taps inside your home. If you’re concerned about lead in your water, a lead test will typically cost around $50. Or if your home was built after 1986, your plumbing should not have lead materials. If you would like to have your water tested, you may obtain references for qualified laboratories by contacting the California State Water Resources Control Board, Laboratory Accreditation Program at (916) 323-3431.

Options to treat your water can be found in a list of National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) approved water treatment devices and plumbing materials, which is available by contacting NSF Consumer Affairs at 1-800-673-6275.
