UPDATE -Cloudy Water and Air Bubbles

I am writing to inform you of our water system activities, so that you are aware of our ongoing efforts to improve the quality of our service. Our office has received several complaints regarding air and sandy/silt in the water.  This issue has been ongoing for the past couple of weeks.  What was ultimately determined to be the source of this issue was a failing air/vac release valve on our Water Well No. 2. The district planned to pull the well for basic maintenance this upcoming winter, when water demand would be at a minimum. However, after our recent concerns about water quality and the limitations imposed by Well Pump Contractors' availability, it was decided to proceed now rather than wait until winter, as further issues and the potential for a catastrophic failure would have cost the district tens of thousands of dollars more.

We are actively working on enhancements to provide our customers with not only better customer service but also the best water quality, while keeping water rates as low as possible.  Having limited office hours saves the district money.  As a non-profit local government agency, our revenues must match our expenses, so cutting costs where possible helps prevent significant water rate increases. If the district can save $1,000 a month, it saves the district from a rate increase of $4.00 per month per account.
